Some organisations received food from Felix directly as well as through the hub, others only received food directly from Felix, and some only received food through the hub (these would receive both Felix and hub-purchased food). Citizens Advice Tower Hamlets leads the partnership with 12 local advice agencies. Progress Update All MCGP target numbers and KPI are being achieved. Over 3.6 million benefit entitlements including in work benefits and under claiming benefits. Written off debts over £600,000. MCGP project has helped over 2047 clients improve their income through claiming benefits. All the partners are also working very hard with clients on the move to universal credit which has and will affect most TH residents. The rise in the cost of living is becoming ever so evident as client are seeking debt advice concerned by their ability to pay ongoing liability, especially utility bills this has become our largest debt issue this Qtr.3. Increase in DHP applications – As a result of delays in migration to UC, many clients are finding themselves unable to pay rent on time and account falling into rent arrears. We have applied for DHP in some of these cases and have been awarded some help, but many have been declined. Affected by benefit cap (mainly for private renters or those with additional bedroom) are another criterion for demand and support with a DHP. Any support provided by DHP with these financial difficulties is, however, temporary and claimant will need to find a way of paying this shortfall from an already reduced income when their DHP awarded timeframe comes to an end. Demand for new claims for DHP also includes those affected by Council tax bill. There is a concern why claimants are not aware or applying for CT benefit when migrating to UC. Many claimants assume their current CT award will continue when migrating to UC. The assumption seems fair, but the reality is claimant must notify CT when there is a ‘change in circumstances’ because the two awarding bodies i.e. UC and CT are separate and not connected. Under the old legacy benefit, system housing benefit application would cover the help with rent and help with CT under one team. We will explore why each individual and their household is in financial difficulty, what other challenges or crisis they face, and work with them to effect solutions. Progress Update From Oct-Dec 24 monitoring return: Throughout the quarter, we have seen no drastic changes to the demographic makeup of our client base. Incoming clients continue to be majority female, within the age range of 35 to 49, and of Bangladeshi ethnic origin. These remain in line with Tower Hamlets' demographic outline. Moreover, during this quarter, we found that 9% of households were not receiving their maximum financial entitlement. Of these households, just under 40% are unemployed, 12% are unfit for work, and 32% present with mental ill health. Since last quarter, we have seen a rise in the number of health problems identified by our clients with 56% more clients signifying a health problem (no disability) and 40% more clients identifying issues with mental ill health. Work has supported us in awarding our clients with £ 183,509.70 in backdated and ongoing payments, including successful PIP appeals. Additional noticeable outcomes included a backdated and ongoing Housing Benefit award summing up to a total of £27,971.42 over the next year. Alongside housing, the most significant awards this quarter were related to Disability Living Allowance and Personal Independence Payment. Furthermore, we have seen an increase across the average SWEMWBS closure score this quarter, rising to just above 26 points. Although a small increase, this trend gives evidence to the need for our service. Through giving quality attention and direction to clients, they have shown to have developed stronger levels of confidence and the ability to independently solve issues in the future. We had spread the hours of operation across weekdays/evenings/weekends, ensuring everyone has a chance to access support, and dedicated telephone/email time with the capacity for over-the-phone consultations for those who have mobility/social anxiety issues. Progress Update Our Drop-in advice sessions are held: • Every Monday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Dockland Settlement, 4 Saunders Ness Road, E14 3PS (except on Bank Holidays, Christmas, and New Year's Day). • Every Friday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Old Poplar Library, 45 Gillender Street, Poplar, London, E14 6RN (except on Good Friday, Christmas, and New Year's Day). We also provide advice by appointment, with specialist assistance available for welfare benefits and housing. For inquiries about local health clinic and hospital appointments, please contact our telephone line to arrange transportation and interpreting services. We offer an escort service for users with limited mobility to hospitals and home visits for housebound individuals. Our volunteers conduct weekly befriending visits to alleviate isolation. Our digital and IT classes cater specifically to elderly service users, offering guidance on phones, laptops, and digital accounts to enhance their digital literacy. Our work focuses in the south-west locality of Tower Hamlets. Progress Update The Forum delivered the following advice services in the period of 1st October 2024 to 31st December 2024. Total number of individual clients assisted: 314 with resolving the case matters of 319 Income maximization (new or additional income brought in): £184,836 Wapping Bangladesh Association (WBA): WBA’s advisers assisted 125 Individual Clients and completed a total of 125 case matters through General Help and Caseworks in areas of welfare benefits, housing, debt, utility, employment, education, immigration, family and other matters. New benefit claims secured an income maximization of £25,229, one-off successful claims of £13,738 and further claims of £58,648 being processed by 31st December 2024 bringing a total of £97,615. The casefile records were maintained electronically through advice pro software programme. Bangladesh Youth Movement: BYM advisers assisted 139 individual clients and completed 144 case matters through a combination of General Help and Caseworks on welfare benefits, housing, debt, utility, employment, education, immigration, family and other matters. New benefit claims secured an income maximization of £14,720, one-off successful claims of £10,261 and further claims of £62,240 being processed by 31st December 2024 bringing a total of £87,221. The casefile records were maintained electronically through advice pro software programme. Tower Hamlets Parent Centre: They have provided service to 20 clients dealing with 20 matters. The Advice worker is receiving training and supervision support from WBA and the Adviser’s development is progressing well. Boundary Community School: They delivered service to 4 new clients to the existing 14 who are being supported with resolving 7 new case matters. They have carried out 2 outreach sessions introducing their services to local community. Wapping Noorani Masjid & Cultural Centre: The Noorani Centre delivered service to 12 clients with resolving 16 matters. At present Trainee Advice worker is learning and shadowing with WBA’s advice worker. The Trainee Adviser has volunteered 6 sessions under direct supervision of WBA staff at WBA. The Trainee is undergoing Level 3 Advice Work Qualification and is expected to qualify as a qualified adviser by 31st March 2025. Progress & Achievements Based on the report, over the course of this quarter, Ashaadibi have reported significant progress towards achieving the class's objectives: Improved language proficiency – Students have shown notable advancements in vocabulary, pronunciation, and sentence construction. Interactive learning – A combination of traditional teaching methods and interactive activities, including role-playing and storytelling, has helped maintain student engagement. Consistent attendance – The majority of students have attended classes regularly, demonstrating strong commitment and enthusiasm. Progress Update During Oct-Dec 2024, the organisation delivered the Girls in Action (GIA) project from Christian Street youth centre in Shadwell, every Thursday 5pm-8pm. Organisation delivered 10 sessions and registered 10 new girls to the project. Overall, report states activities engaged with 20 girls in total during this period. Participants co-designed and delivered and promoted their social action project (around periods and sanitary products), participated in hate crime and VAWG workshops, CV/employability workshops and 121 sessions. Through weekly activities including sports, arts, and reflective sessions; the programme focuses on improving young people’s mental health, resilience and steering them away from anti-social behaviour and crime. Progress Update Whilst St Hilda’s East underperformed this quarter with regards to number of participants attending, they met their annual target earlier this year. The underperformance is due to staff shortages which occurred last quarter and their efforts have now paid off as a member of staff commenced their employment to lead this project at the end of January 2025. The priority for this new member of staff is to increase the attendance and engagement of their youth provision, therefore this is not a concern. All other KPI’s have been met and some, including % of participants report they value the sessions leading to an improvement in their mental wellbeing and resilience have exceeded set targets. During this quarter, BRAVE Girls concluded a fantastic art project collaboration with Cheltenham Ladies' College (CLC) called CLC X Brave Girls on theme of Community. A key highlight was an exhibition at CLC Gallery where both CLC and BRAVE Girls art pieces were on display. In mid-November 5 members of the group travelled to Cheltenham for the opening event and to meet with the CLC girls. This event provided an opportunity to reflect on the art project’s outcomes and celebrate the girls’ creative achievements. The organisation also submitted an additional report providing in depth details on the success of this project. St Hilda’s East volunteer development has continued this quarter, welcoming a new volunteer to the cohort who are focusing on developing leadership; each volunteer is developing, planning and then leading session over the next couple of quarters. While their arrival coincided with this challenging period, they have quickly integrated into the team and are actively reviewing client feedback and delivery models to improve accessibility and relevance. Progress Update During this reporting period, the Project has delivered sessions in community-based settings like Children’s Centres, primary schools, and community centres. The ESOL classes provide accessible and supportive learning opportunities for local residents. A new cohort of students began their studies in September 2024 and will complete the course in January 2025, achieving either a RARPA or an Ascentis qualification. Although 73 students have started the programme this quarter, they will not finish their class until the end of January 2025, so the outcomes will be reported in the next quarter (Jan-Mar 2025). During this quarter, the Project engaged in a range of co-design activities with stakeholders to better align projects and initiatives with participant needs and feedback. These activities focused on identifying learning goals, removing barriers to participation, and addressing evolving priorities. One of the most significant benefits of ESOL classes is the improvement in language proficiency, which enables students to perform everyday tasks with greater ease. A student shared her experience, stating, “When I started my class in September this year, I couldn’t speak properly and I couldn’t write full sentences. Now I can speak properly, I can write long sentences, make an appointment, talk with the doctor, and go shopping. I even passed my theory exam and am practicing driving.” This progress illustrates the transformative power of ESOL education in helping individuals achieve both personal and professional goals. All the content is ready and finalised and the group are now working on doing role play videos for the presentation. The group have been extremely productive this quarter and have been working hard since starting back after the break. Progress Update The project now has caught up after the delays over the summer. East London Mosque have now been delivering at least once a week the creative English programme and they have reported in the learners both enjoying and learning during the sessions. The project has supported 100 learners attending both East London Mosque and Wapping Bangladeshi Association with currently 75 learners completing 10 sessions or more. The general results from the data is showing an increase in confidence in all areas including dealing with medical professionals and when the learners are out and about using public transport and shopping. 99% of learners have said they have made new friends and 90% say that they have used a new service or facility within their community. Additionally, one-to-one support from Employability Advisors tailored the program to individual needs, helping students identify job opportunities and submit applications. A highlight of the program was the Job Fair held in October at the Museum of the Home in Hackney. This event gave participants valuable insights into various career paths and included an opportunity for students to gain work experience by volunteering at the fair. For many, this experience was transformative. The Job Fair was particularly impactful for students overcoming personal challenges. Students also had the chance to develop interview skills through a Skills Workshop at UBS Bank. The workshop was both a challenge and a learning experience. Through classroom sessions, personalized support, and community events like the Job Fair and UBS workshop, Community Works offers students a well-rounded platform to develop critical employability skills. As a result, 13 people succeeded getting into paid employment. The project intake has already surpassed original plans and predictions, positioning the E14 BAME Skills Development & Employment project to potentially become a new employment and training hub for the BAME community. This aligns with our ultimate goal and vision for the project's future impact. The project have outstanding session delivery (due to tutor issues) which they will be completing during quarter January- March 2025 as catch up sessions. They have continued to build partnerships and promote the programme across their co-production partnerships in the borough such as schools and organisations to reach individuals at risk of social, economic, and digital exclusion and support their confidence, motivation, employability skills to improve their financial situations. 4x employability sessions took place and 2x financial managing money workshops. Further one to ones have taken place with the participants and project worker to ensure their short term and long term goals are being addressed from action planning has taken place and further information to empower individuals provided(our project worker is also a trained employment adviser and welfare benefits adviser). They will be collaborating in January 2025 with their advice team for the cyber cafe to be held on the same day as their support drop in, to ensure individuals who need an increase of support with digital skills have active support to empower them and individuals who are welfare benefit dependant receive holistic support and options of employment, as well as ensuring individuals can also benefit from additional financial support advice to know their entitlements based on their situations. In their last quarter, they have asked participants to provide a video/audio testimony to encourage peers to develop their employability skills and join the programme-this will be included on the next report. The project successfully secured employment for two young individuals and supported a total of 38 new participants through advice, guidance, CV development, and assistance with claims, passports, and driver's licenses to get them ready for the job market. As they plan for the new year, they have scheduled an SIA course and a CSCS Construction course at the Osmani Centre, along with short courses in Introduction to Youth Work and Barbering at various youth sites, reinforcing their commitment to empowering young people with skills and opportunities. Progress Update Despite some changes in staffing—specifically the departure of their Progression Manager and Catering Manager—the project are optimistic about the continued success of the Employability & Progression programme funded by the Tower Hamlets Mayor’s Community Grant. Their new Progression Manager has quickly established a rapport with the team and brought renewed energy, and they are nearing the recruitment of a new Catering Manager, which they expect will stabilise their operations. In this quarter, several key achievements include: - 26 new clients received Information, Advice, and Guidance assessments, and they supported them in crafting a range of CVs to enhance their job search efforts. - Six clients completed one of either their Catering and Gardening Trainee Schemes with each client gaining an accreditation in Level 2 Food Hygiene or an OCN Sowing and Growing Accreditation in the process. - One client secured a job in a bakery which was great news and built on their experience of participating in and completing our 10-week Catering Trainee Scheme. This session enabled them the opportunity to discuss in depth their challenges and/or barriers to securing employment. More importantly, it was an opportunity to discuss their ambitions and goals. They have been working in partnership with the Aberfeldy Big Local and Bromley By Bow Centre; Their EPP Coordinator is based, once a week, at the Aberfeldy Big Local in E14, offering the project services to residents living in that part of the borough. This partnership has been a success for the project and the residents; they will continue with this partnership work in 2025. They have co-designed with resident beneficiaries two interview skills workshop which we delivered this quarter: First one, for those aspiring to work with children in pre-schools, nurseries, primary schools or as childminders; Second one, for those seeking jobs in the retail sector. Both workshops proved to be a success with participants as it was specifically tailored to meet their needs. Progress Update This quarter 260 individuals registered with VCTH. The project sent them details of their IETV programme and its benefits, and invited them to sign up via an entry questionnaire. The questionnaire asked why they wanted to volunteer, the volunteering activity, training and paid jobs that interested them, and the skills/experience they hoped to gain. It established baseline data on knowledge and confidence levels in finding the right volunteer role, completing application forms, preparing for interviews, and making the most of volunteering experience on CVs. 57 individuals completed the IETV entry questionnaire (29 registered fully). Through individual phone calls the project discussed their interests and suggested suitable volunteering roles. They provided follow-up support to address questions or concerns, offering guidance on how to register interest for roles and apply. They sent tailored emails with links to volunteer role descriptions and contact information for volunteering roles that align with their interests. They developed their second workshop; “CV Building and Using Your Volunteering Experience for Job Applications”. Although initially developed for group workshops, it may be delivered as 1:1 support. Sessions will be offered to individuals who have volunteered for 3+ months and want to utilise their volunteering experience when applying for jobs. Progress Update The project recruited 15 volunteers across two groups: The Workers Film & Photo League (WFPL) project initially recruited 9 participants, but one dropped out due to freelance work commitments. Of the remaining 8, 7 live in Tower Hamlets. This group shot material on Super 8 cameras with tutor Barbara Nicholls and edited them with audio and archival footage from the WFPL archives. They worked with Edit tutor Riffy Ahmed for 7 days to produce a series of short films, co-produced by Dr Sam Stevens from University of Westminster and Carla Mitchell from Four Corners. The films will be screened as part of an exhibition in Four Corners’ Gallery at the end of January 2025. The other 7 volunteers were recruited onto The Four Corners Film Workshop (FCFW) project. 6 of the 7 participants live in Tower Hamlets. This group conducted oral history interviews, visited Bishopsgate and Tower Hamlets Local History Library & Archives and researched Four Corners’ archives. They worked with edit tutor Riffy Ahmed for 8 days to create a series of short films inspired by and exploring the histories of Four Corners early films. The films will be screened as part of Four Corners 50th anniversary exhibition in Four Corners’ Gallery in Spring/Summer 2025. Progress Update From October to December 2024, the Youth Theatre programme continued to thrive, with a total of 193 members, including 39 young people with disabilities or additional needs. The venue also welcomed two placement students from Queen Mary University and Central School of Speech and Drama, along with five young people who transitioned from the Next Steps Transition Programme and have continued to engage as volunteers in younger groups. They also held their ninth annual Free Family Fun Day with 600 community members attending throughout the day. Box office data reports that audiences came across the borough. As per their targets/KPIs the Half Moon YP Theatre provided a written update a written update on their progress against targets (due to data not being processed). However, for KPI 3: 963 (96% of target) children, young people and their parents/carers reported feeling enriched by their experience at Half Moon (target: 1,000). Progress Update Kayd kicked off celebrating Black History Month with the event “Roots and Rhythms: A Celebration of Black, Somali Culture", organized in collaboration with Tower Hamlets Council. This event, which took place on October 5th, 2024, which featured Black/African/Somali artists in London. Around 250 people attended. During the event, they also premiered screening of Untold Stories, a documentary which highlights the contributions of Somalis in the UK. Inn October, they successfully held our ‘Family Weekend’ as part of Somali Week Festival (19-20th October). The weekend featured a diverse range of activities for different audiences. On Saturday, there was children’s entertainment provided by Galool, a storyteller and entertainer who promotes the writing and reading of Somali language. The event was held in the cafe at Oxford House and had a line-up of events for adults. Two panel discussions: a roundtable called ‘Community Champions: Celebrating Somali Heros’, which featured four inspiring speakers and the second was a panel about climate change with Somalis for Sustainability. The evening programme featured a book launch for Jama Guleid’s memoir ‘Invisible State’, followed by a screening of Untold Stories and a conversation with the director Kasim Wise. The evening concluded with musical performances by Somali British singer Kaltuun and traditional dances performed by the group Qoraan. On Sunday, we held two additional events: a book fair for authors of Somali-language books, who each spoke about their work, and a conversation with literary legend Said Saalax. Progress Update Due to delays to them receiving MCGP funding and grant agreements being signed and due to struggling to initially engage with older participants the project had started late. The project’s baseline started in November 2024 and the end evaluation will be carried out in July 2025 and will be reported on the Jul-Sep 2025 report. They are expected to report 18 people by then. They will meet both KPI1 and KP2. Between October to December 2024, Creative Mix concluded its planning phase for year two and resumed delivering sessions. The two artists co-leading the project had taken time to consider the ways their art forms (poetry and visual arts) could compliment each other when responding to this year's theme of ‘belonging’. Once plans were made the project ran a larger team meeting to allow additional feedback to refine the plans in place. In October they carried out a number of visits to existing groups and networking events to share flyers and talk to residents about the project. Toynbee Hall, St Hilda's East, E2 networking meeting and local libraries were a few locations we used to push recruitment. In conversation, many shared that this more personal approach was appreciated as questions could be answered and interest was followed up. They went out for a meal to celebrate their success and enjoyed the one year of being together and playing together. Their cycle team were out on their planned routes weather permitting as they had a few cold and rainy spells that cancelled the sessions. However, they had optimism to cycle and improve their cycling range and upgrading their bikes. A few have purchased good quality bikes to enter into the 2025 cycle events and be ready for the annual residential with plenty of daily cycling routes. When the weather is really bad for cycling, many have opted to go to the gym and use the bikes there whilst a few have invested in indoor cycling using their bikes and have recorded in the Wattsbike App. Their cycle lead had an accident and is out of cycling and a new lead has taken over and they hope to ensure that under his lead the sessions will continue whether on the road, in the gym when weather is bad or at home using their app to show their achievements. These hour-long sessions are run by the Outreach and Administration Assistant and 2 of our Peer Volunteers. It is a great opportunity for new service users to find out about all of the activities that OETC has on offer, and ask any questions they have about getting involved and their engagement. The sessions have been really beneficial for communicating the activities OETC runs beyond the weekly drop-ins. During this quarter, the Outreach and Administration Assistant delivered a presentation to 70 members of the RESET Tower Hamlets team in order to expand this partnership and knowledge of Outside Edge within RESET Tower Hamlets. He told them about Outside Edge’s offer of activities, which was very well received, with many of their staff members being particularly interested to know about our new activity for Muslim Service Users. It will target under-represented communities to address the inequalities that exist in the access to adventure sports. Progress Update There are now 20 girls enrolled on the programme. There were no new enrolments onto the programme in this quarter as the sessions were intended to run for the whole of the autumn term. It is tricky to recruit young people to the activities once the weather is cold, especially those who may need additional support and encouragement to take part. To mitigate against this the project ran sessions for girls who had already taken part in the programme over the year, enabling them to develop their skills and expand into activities they had not tried before. There were 9 sessions that took place on Wednesday evenings over the three month period. 10 spaces were available on each of the sessions and attendance was very good, with an average of just over 8 girls attending each session and 75 attendances in total. A mixed activity programme took place, with activities on the water when the weather was especially good, but mainly focusing on land activities. Activities included climbing, high ropes, abseiling, mountain biking, stand up paddleboarding, orienteering, open canoeing, indoor bouldering and kayaking. Many of the girls taking part were aged 9 - 11, which is the lower end of the age range. It was very rewarding to see them building confidence and friendships and the growth in their skills throughout the sessions. All of the group have been working towards awards in the activities and 6 awards were achieved in this quarter. Overall this year the group have gained 49 activity skills awards. This period also includes the Centre’s annual Youth Challenge and participants of the programme took part in the competition, with one participant winning multiple gold medals and three winning bronze or silver medals. These outings were not only enjoyable but also encouraged independence and confidence in navigating the city. This is a slight decrease from last quarter due to the Christmas period. Activities included but not limited to craft club, lunch club and choir. Case studies and photos were attached as part of the overall report. This quarter featured a variety of workshops that, as shown in the attached monitoring report, provided participants with valuable learning opportunities and enjoyable social experiences. The workshops continue to be very popular, and the organisation is actively planning a diverse range of events to offer further benefits to the community. Due to the growing demand for exercise classes, Island House is exploring the possibility of adding a third class, potentially one that is more energetic and dance-based. The organisation provided a case study and finance report as part of their monitoring. Progress Update During this quarter, they one-on-one support to 18 clients, assisting them with various applications and forms. This included creating digital accounts, completing welfare benefit applications, and liaising with services. Council Tax Refunds - This quarter, the project supported four clients with Council Tax refunds by assisting them in creating email accounts and setting up online Council Tax accounts. This enabled the submission of refund requests, which provided much-needed financial relief during the winter months marked by rising living costs. Housing Applications - Four families received support in compiling evidence and completing online housing applications, a process that required up to three appointments or home visits for each client. Carers Allowance Applications - Three clients were successfully guided through the digital application process for Carers Allowance. These applications not only provided financial relief but also alleviated stress and anxiety for the clients and their families. Pension Credit Claims -They assisted three eligible clients with Pension Credit applications, using both paper forms and online submissions. While the outcomes are pending, these claims have the potential to significantly improve the financial stability of the clients involved. PIP and UC50 Forms - Supporting clients with Personal Independence Payment (PIP) and UC50 forms proved to be a significant focus this quarter. Two clients were guided through the PIP process, including the challenging task of gathering medical evidence and navigating initial phone calls. One client successfully secured a high-rate daily living and lower-rate mobility award. Similarly, two clients received help with UC50 forms, addressing the complexities of medical jargon and language barriers. The activities will be delivered from Tarling East Community Centre in partnership with Sonali Gardens, Linkage Plus and Tower Hamlets Community Housing. We also plan to run social club and activity classes for older people. Progress Update Art Classes for Older People -The project has continued delivering the Art Classes from Sonali Gardens. The older people have arthritic pain and physical ailments. The activities delivered have been adjusted to accommodate to their needs and condition. In this reporting period, the group have done traditional motifs, autumn theme art and celebrating the Chinese New Year by designing and painting Chinese lanterns. Walking Football for 50+ -The Walking football has continued to take place every Wednesday from 8pm to 9pm. The project organised an in-house competition consisting of 4 teams of 6 players each which was very competitive and enjoyable for them. Walking football users have also participated in personal fitness drills during the sessions to make sure they are fit and well (for those who are not fit enough to play). Social Club for 50+ -The social club session have run smoothly during the cold weather. Older people have continued to attend the sessions in Sonali Gardens with an attendance of 6 people over the age of 50. Recently a new pool table was purchased in Sonali Gardens and they are enjoying taking part every week. Exercise classes: Weekly armchair exercise sessions were launched to promote physical health. Led by a skilled instructor, the class focused on fitness and providing health tips for elderly participants. While this quarter has seen significant progress, there have been a few challenges that impacted the project's delivery: Limited resources: One of the main challenges remains securing sufficient funding for events and materials. This has constrained the ability to expand on current activities or introduce new initiatives as planned. Accessibility concerns: Transportation continues to be a barrier for less mobile members, limiting their ability to fully participate in events. This issue needs to be addressed to ensure greater inclusivity within the community. Plans for the Next Quarter: Expansion of Digital Literacy Workshops: There are plans to extend the digital literacy workshops to include intermediate-level skills. This will allow members to further enhance their technology skills, helping them stay connected and engage with online resources. We will provide weekly sessions where children grow, cook and eat meals together in a supportive, active environment and increase their health, fitness and wellbeing. Progress Update In this period they delivered 23 full activity sessions with 329 visits by registered children and young people at the adventure play ground. These sessions included gardening, arts and crafts, bush crafts, fire pit cooking, football, jewellery making and free play on the structures. They provided freshly 329 cooked meals for 138 different children. 10 children visited regularly, at least 10 times over this period. It has been a very challenging time due to staff shortages and changes in management as our long term manager left in December. They also have had even more structures decommissioned and removed which has made the playground less engaging for the young people. The shorter days and cold weather always affects our attendance as we are essentially an outdoor facility so we have applied for funds to do trips off site to build up new attendees and keep interest in our offer high. This has been successful and we will be launching these monthly trips soon. 156 new young people registered in this period, some have not started attending yet. In partnership with these mosques, information events were held with the involvement of Tell Mama, the Metropolitan Police, and local leaders, focusing on raising awareness of hate crime, racism, Islamophobia, religious intolerance, racial harassment, and reporting mechanisms. These sessions aimed to increase residents' confidence in discussing these issues and understanding their causes and consequences. Progress Update The Voices Project is continuing to deliver and work towards reducing isolation among Black, Asian, and mixed-ethnic refugees and migrants in Tower Hamlets. Key achievements include providing cultural experiences, such as first-time visits to institutions like the National Maritime Museum and Queen's House, which helped foster a sense of belonging within British culture. The skills-based workshops delivered this period included, drama workshops with Outside Edge Theatre Company and communication workshops like "Arguing Better," offered therapeutic benefits and practical tools for improving well-being and relationships. A visit to the Houses of Parliament, facilitated by local MP Rushanara Ali, enhanced participants' understanding of British democracy and civic engagement. This was illustrated when our Grant Officer visited and joined one of the sessions and one of the older members of the group (a gran caring for her granddaughter) told the group about aspects of the Chinese culture'. Progress Update This quarter's project monitoring report demonstrates strong performance with referrals consistently exceeding targets, indicating high demand for services. Upskill Reach continued targeted outreach including the use of translated marketing materials in Bengali and Somali. Partnerships with the Neighbourhood Mental Health Teams, Mind, Poplar Harca, City Lit, and New City College ESOL, resulted in increased BAME referrals and access to diverse opportunities for clients. These opportunities ranged from training and volunteering to paid work, ESOL support, NHS work experience (with some progressing to paid roles), and signposting to wellbeing activities, including grant applications for client-led projects. Positive feedback was received for the project through user surveys. However, the high volume of referrals impacted the number of community open sessions held for this period 7 delivered of 12 planned. This will be addressed and increased for the next quarter where the project will do work around capacity and incoming referrals from partners to effectively manage the caseload. Key achievements include the delivery of long-term, holistic, one-to-one support to 29 women through the Daytime Support Service, addressing complex needs related to safety, housing, poverty, and health. Street outreach efforts resulted in contact with 28 identified women selling sex, with 16 successfully signposted to support services. Drop-in sessions were held across multiple locations, engaging 15 unique women, including two new service users. Furthermore, 41 psychotherapy sessions were attended by 14 women, demonstrating strong engagement with this critical mental health provision designed to overcome barriers often faced by this population. Progress Update This quarter, the Rebuild Project successfully delivered the new Navigate self-development program, focusing on self- actualisation, career development, confidence building, and resilience training, to engaged learners in both individual and group settings. GREEN Short Description The Schools Resilience Programme (SRP) aims to educate and mentor vulnerable and at-risk secondary school children on community safety and prevent them from becoming involved in crime, gangs and criminal exploitation. The project will develop their resilience, critical thinking skills and emotional intelligence so they make informed choices. Progress Update The project focused on delivering workshops in Pupil Referral Units (PRUs), notably at LEAP Harpley, where a tailored 6-week program was implemented due to the high student turnover. While initial engagement with classes was positive, challenges arose with low and inconsistent attendance, session disruptions, and mid-program enrollments, resulting in only three completions this quarter and 14 cumulatively. Despite these challenges inherent to the PRU environment, the project successfully initiated contact and planned future workshops with Morpeth and Oaklands Schools, where a staggered delivery approach, larger cohorts, and increased flexibility will be implemented to improve engagement and outcomes. GREEN Short Description The Hawaa Project is a tailored advice and guidance service for BAME women affected by domestic abuse. WIT provides a safe and confidential environment, where cultural and linguistic needs of minority women are catered for. Hawaa is set to help tackle a culturally sensitive issue that is often overlooked. Progress Update The Haawa Project achieved significant progress this quarter through impactful events, outreach, and increased visibility. Key achievements for this period include the successful delivery of three events for the 16 Days of Activism, focusing on Forced Marriage/Virginity Testing and FGM in the Somali community, engaging 35 participants and featuring expert speakers. The organisation launched the VAWG Champions Network this period, 40 people attended the event. The organisation also held a White Ribbon event, this event engaged approximately 105 individuals, with outreach efforts reaching an additional 30. A targeted social media campaign and referrals from organisations like Solace also resulted in five new clients for the project during this period.
